Each class is structured around a physical and anatomical theme that we explore for 2-3 weeks.

Open Level: Welcoming to students with some yoga experience, from those building their foundation to experienced practitioners. The class includes foundational poses with options to explore more challenging variations. Modifications and progressions are offered throughout, allowing each student to work at their own pace and skill level. Previous yoga experience is preferable, as this class is not designed for true beginners.

A therapeutic-minded class that emphasizes precise alignment and structural integrity, drawing from Katonah yoga's metaphorical approach to understand the body's architecture and yoga therapy principles for healing. Through mindful attention to form and function, students will build strength, stability, and awareness while addressing individual needs and imbalances.

Fresh Start: A Morning of Intention-Setting Yoga for FASNY
Begin the new year with clarity and purpose! Join us for an uplifting morning of mindful movement and community connection while supporting a wonderful cause.
This all-levels and all-inclusive class will help you connect with your intentions for 2025. You'll learn accessible breathing techniques and energizing yoga postures that open your heart, strengthen your core, and ground your aspirations—setting the foundation for a year of growth and positive change.

Meet Your Instructor:
Hélène Roy is a registered yoga teacher and FASNY parent. She is a regular teacher at Kaia Yoga in Mamaroneck and offers group and private classes at her own studio, the Surya Yoga Shala, in Rye's Greenhaven neighborhood. She also hosts retreats in the Catskills every Fall and in Bordeaux, in the Summer. Before transitioning to yoga, Hélène worked in finance and economic development in NYC. Originally from Bordeaux, France, she has two children at FASNY: Claire in PreK and Pierre in 3rd Grade.
