Each 60-minute experience is meticulously tailored to your unique needs, providing the focused guidance and hands-on adjustments that group settings cannot match.
Whether you're building foundational skills as a beginner, refining specific aspects as an advanced practitioner, or simply preferring the privacy of individual instruction, these sessions create the ideal environment for your practice to thrive.
After carefully assessing your current practice, I craft a customized program aligned with your body, goals, and immediate needs. I thoughtfully integrate breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asana), and restorative methods to create a complete practice.
My goal is to challenge you appropriately while ensuring safety, identify growth opportunities, and guide you past obstacles, all while deepening your self-awareness and maintaining an atmosphere of supportive joy.

What to expect?
While every class is unique, here are a few elements you can expect to find in all my private classes:
Deep listening to your needs of the day
Opening mindful breathing and grounding practice
Warm-up and stretches adapted to your needs and to the focus of the class
Cues and hand-on adjustments to deepen your understanding of each posture and help you tune-in your body
Focus on breath and movement coordination throughout the class
A sequence that evolves class after class based on your needs - unless you are joining in the Ashtanga path (see below)
Yoga drills and a workshop-style approach to work on new or more challenging postures
Closing traditional yogic breathing practice (pranayama), guided relaxation and rest.
Ashtanga students:
Ashtanga Yoga is traditionally learnt and practiced in a Mysore room, whereby students evolve at their own pace under the expert eye of the teacher, building from one pattern of asana to a more challenging pattern of asanas until proficiency is attained.
In a one-on-one setting, I provide the same individual guidance and physical adjustments you would receive in a Mysore room as well as my undivided attention. I teach all the postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series.
How do I get started?

Schedule: book your first session at the Surya Yoga Shala or your home (depending on location)
Practice: we co-create a plan to work together once or twice per week with yoga sessions that are perfectly curated to your body, lifestyle, and schedule
Plan: if we are the right fit I ask you commit to a minimum of 10 sessions so that we can establish long-term change
What are the pricing options?
As of February 2025:
On-on-One Privates (60 minutes):
Single Class: $150
5 Class Pack: $650
10 Class Pack: $1,250
Semi-Privates (60 minutes):
Same as above +$25/person (up to 4 additional)
Event Group Class :
Starting at $250/ class
Additional fee applies for classes that are 75 minute or 90-minute long classes and travel time. Please inquiry.
Where is the studio located?
The Surya Yoga Shala is a private home studio located at 4 Walden Lane, Rye, in the neighborhood of Greenhaven.
What do I need to bring to class?
Mats and props are provided for your private class.
Please consider to bring your own mat or a yoga towel to put on top of the studio mat.

What if I am new to yoga?
You will learn the foundations of the practice at a pace that matches your skill level. Safety, proper form, and use of breath are the utmost priority so that you can build confidence as a practitioner. The private yoga format allows space for questions throughout the lesson.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellations must be made 24 hours before class to be able to reschedule. No refunds are given for canceled classes due to emergencies within 24 hours of class.
